Also known as the "Pearl of the Tuscan Archipelago", Giglio Island is one of the most fascinating places in the Tuscan Maremma.
Located in front of the imposing Monte Argentario, the island extends for 21km of natural beauty which makes it a wild oasis a few kilometers from the Tuscan coast.
A day on the island offers many opportunities for visitors, including trips on foot and on horseback, diving in the clear sea and excursions to secluded and enchanting coves.
How to get to Giglio Island
To reach the island of Giglio just reach Porto Santo Stefano and choose one of the ferries that make numerous daily routes to the island.
Visit to Giannutri Island
Giannutri Island is smaller and less famous than the "older sister", the Island of Giglio. Perhaps for this reason a trip to Giannutri offers incomparable moments of intimacy and unspoiled landscapes.
Known for the beauty of its seabed, Giannutri Island is one of the favorite destinations for lovers of water and underwater sports. Its coast is rocky and hosts several caves, some of which can be visited with small boats.
Another attraction not to be missed on the island are the remains of a luxurious Roman villa that belonged to the Domizi Enobarbi family and dated II century. d. C.
